Provides support online and in-person, according to service need. Assists with coordination of delivery of services and provides work guidance to student assistants and LLC Clerk I staff to implement Chaffey policies and supervisor directives

Responsibilities Provides high quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, and the community; performs circulation tasks and assists with check-in and check-out processes and renewals; Assists students, faculty, staff, and community members to locate, receive, and use LLC resources across multiple formats, to include print, audio-visual, digital, and other formats as technology evolves; Performs shelf reading, shelving and shifting of books, and cleaning shelving areas as needed; Maintains distribution and tracking of LLC equipment; Assists with computer printing, scanning, photocopying and other equipment; performs simple servicing of machines and assists with basic computer software/hardware issues; troubleshoots and contacts servicing support for handling, as necessary; Provides assistance and answers questions to direct students, staff, faculty, and community members to additional Chaffey resources, as appropriate. Maintains a strong working knowledge of resources across Chaffey College. Works with Library Technicians to ensure library materials are updated; Provides work direction to short-term and student workers; Coordinates preparation of facility for opening and closing, securing public areas, powering on and off equipment, and other related activities; Processes and maintains reserves, reserve records, and provides reserve cataloging for physical and digital reserve collections.

Processes faculty-provided material. Monitors and revises the physical and digital inventory of reserve collections; Fulfills requests for archived course descriptions; digitizes materials and assists with Archive Projects, as needed; Confirms student registration status to verify student accounts and lending eligibility using appropriate campus technologies; Performs a variety of clerical duties, communicates in-person and on-line, handles routine correspondence and requests; screens and directs calls, and inquiries to appropriate personnel or department; Tracks and notifies users of overdue materials and equipment through multiple communication strategies as needed; Assists with scheduling of LLC Clerk staff coverage across multiple locations during staff absences; Collaborates with other College departments, as assigned; participates in staff meetings and attends training as assigned; Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

An example of this would be completion of high school and work experience in library/learning media circulation. Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment. Knowledge of library terminology, practices, and procedures as they apply to an automated circulation module.

Knowledge of the full range of library services; knowledge of the filing and classification systems used in the library; ability to file accurately and rapidly according to detailed guidelines. Ability to input data into administrative and library databases. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and other general-use records; ability to learn to operate LLC equipment.

Ability to interpret and explain library policies and procedures. Ability to organize, prioritize, and control workload; ability to oversee the work of others and evidence positive leadership. Ability to relate tactfully and effectively to a large volume of students, faculty, and staff under time pressure and in sensitive situations, such as the need to ask appropriate questions if the library security system is activated.
