Job description

Plans and presents dynamic children's story time classes, crafts, and other activities that blend Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) components to enhance creativity and foster a passion for learning. Provides readers' advisory services for children, parents, and caregivers. Conducts bibliographic searches and operates audiovisual equipment. Assists library members in finding reference materials for homework assignments/other projects and demonstrates how to access electronic reference products through the internet.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework (must specify 60-semester/90- quarter hours),
OR
• Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of one (1) year of college-level coursework (must specify 30-semester/45-quarter hours) AND one (1) year of experience working in a library,
OR
• Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a library.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application):
• Experience teaching or working in an early education environment,
• Experience in storytelling,
• Experience in public speaking or conducting presentations,
• Knowledgeable in children's literature, and
• Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
