Position Summary
Contributes to all areas of Campbell Library Public Services, including the In-person Service Point, Virtual Service Point, Exhibits planning, Lending/Borrowing, and tabling/outreach at events across campus.
Provides exemplary customer service in all interactions with patrons, upholds building procedures and policies, including opening/closing routines and emergency protocols. Assists with stack maintenance, including shelving library materials, examining the collection for book condition, and shifting/inventorying the collection. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Assists with the fulfillment of lending and borrowing requests via Interlibrary Loan systems
  • Staffs the In-person & Virtual Service Points as assigned, providing exemplary customer service to all patrons in all modalities
  • Follows building procedures for opening/closing, entrance policies, and emergency protocols
  • Staffs tabling/outreach events across campus, representing Campbell Library's services and collections
  • Shifts and maintains physical collections throughout Campbell Library
  • Provides tours of library facilities
  • Assists in the preparation of library materials for display, exhibits, and library programs
  • Collaborates on broad Campbell Library projects to support other departments as needed
  • Participates in the gathering of usage information
  • Contributes to the planning of library events and activities
  • Conveys unmet patron needs, emerging trends, and new ideas to their supervisor, ensuring they have the insight needed to make informed decisions and anticipate future needs
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of library experience in a public services capacity
  • Understanding of common academic library collections
  • Experience with key library systems and software (e.g. Alma, ServiceNow, Illiad, ReShare)
  • Experience with common productivity software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite)
  • Experience working with a wide variety of collaborators on projects
  • Ability to engage with all members of a diverse community in-person and through writing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritizing work, and meet deadlines both independently and as part of a team, often with frequent service need interruptions
  • Ability to follow, implement, and enforce a broad range of policies, procedures, and local practices
  • Experience designing and mounting exhibits
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Typical Work Hours
  • Please note that the currently listed shifts are subject to change to meet the operational needs of the department
  • Sunday 10am - 5:30pm ; Monday - Thursday 7am - 2:30pm
  • Tuesday-Thursday 5pm - 12:15am ; Friday 1pm - 8:15pm ; Saturday 10am - 7:15pm
Salary & Benefits
  • In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is CWA: Range 9, Step 2 ($41,070) to Step 4 ($44,494).
  • For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).
