Pay: The Student Employee Pay Wage Policy can be found on myMount (log in required to view page).

Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester.


Purpose: Assists patrons at the Library Circulation Desk by checking out materials and serving as a first point of contact for library services. There will be on-the-job training.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Check-in and check-out library materials
  • Library material renewals
  • Accepts money for overdue materials
  • Operates multi-line telephone
  • Accepts materials to be placed on Library Reserves
  • Aids with putting materials on Library Reserves
  • Assists with opening and closing the Library
  • Assists patrons with directional questions
  • Assists with OhioLINK inbound and outbound duties
  • Operating computers, telephones, and MFD (Multi-Function Device: Printer, Copier, and Scanner)
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
  • Must be Work Study eligible 
  • MUST be available to work Saturdays
  • Early morning, late evening, and weekend availability strongly preferred
  • Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines
  • Well organized, punctual, and reliable
  • The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University
  • Experience in areas indicated above plus other qualifications and requirements necessary for completion of duties.
