Job description

Assistant Librarians are responsible for helping the librarian with acquiring, organizing, managing, distributing, and providing training on the use of informational resources and services. Assistant Librarians help librarians ensure that the library provides all of the necessary resources and services to meet the educational program requirements for the educational programs offered by the university. The Assistant Librarian is responsible for assisting the patrons in use of library services and helps librarians acquire and catalog materials by performing the following duties of the Keiser library system. The Assistant Library administers programs of library services by performing routine technical/clerical procedures and/or customer information within the library with regular supervision and is expected to use limited independent judgment.
The Assistant Librarian must have the following:
  • Master's Degree from an American Library Association accredited University
  • 2-3 years experience working with the business or social sciences fields is preferred; recent experience in library public services with an emphasis in reference services; demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in current information technology teaching experience work with faculty developing assignments involving library research; recent experience in an academic library
