Description
Under supervision of a Department Coordinator, assist patrons using the makerspace and provide outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Assist patrons with their project from initial concept to final product
  • Train patrons on all makerspace equipment, including all safety procedures
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, clean & troubleshoot makerspace equipment
  • Track consumables & request more when appropriate
  • Schedule equipment reservations for patrons
  • Give tours of the makerspace
  • Explain library policies
  • Identify problem situations and seek help where appropriate to resolve the problem
  • Perform related duties as required
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Proficiency with various hardware & software such as 3D printers, cutters, poster printer
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong interest in DIY making
  • Ability to work independently
  • Commitment to doing all work through a lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism

PHYSICAL ELEMENTS
