Job description

PharmIntell is currently recruiting for an information professional (FT, 35-40 hrs/week) to support our clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries with a variety of library, information and research services, including but not limited to:

  • Reference services and library service request triage
  • Library website administration (e.g. LibGuides, TDNet, SharePoint or other platforms)
  • Digital resource collection management (e.g. online databases, books, and journal holdings)
  • End-user access and technical support including management of SSO- and IP address-based authentication systems
  • Content licensing and subscription renewal support services
  • Usage analytics and reporting to evaluate and recommend subscription changes or service marketing
  • Stakeholder communications about information resources & services
  • User needs assessments
  • Vendor engagement for product evaluations, licensing and training
  • User orientation, outreach, and training
  • Document delivery services
  • Copyright policy communication, education and consulting
  • Literature searching in support of pharmacovigilance, regulatory filings, case processing, aggregate reports, ad hoc requests and systematic literature reviews
  • Competitive intelligence activities, including pipeline, business and news database searching
  • Newsletters & literature alerts
Position Location:

This position is remote (work from home). Clients require support during US East Coast business hours (8 am to 6 pm Eastern Time).

Preference will be given to applicants in states where PharmIntell is currently doing business: NJ, NY, PA, MA, NC, OH, IL, MN, FL, CA

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range $105,000 - $135,000 annualized (commensurate with education and experience)
  • Life and disability insurance (must work 30 hrs/week to be eligible)
  • 401K with 3% company contribution (must have 12 months of service to be eligible)

Requirements
  • Master's Degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Experience with MS Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and high standards for work quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Library or information center work experience in the biomedical/pharma/healthcare sector
  • Experience with literature searching; able to develop and structure a search to best address the client’s needs, from a comprehensive systematic review to a few good articles
  • Familiarity with medical and scientific terminology; familiarity with biomedical indexing controlled vocabularies (e.g. MESH/EMTREE).
  • Experience with industry-relevant research & discovery platforms (e.g. Ovid, ProQuest, Embase.com, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Citeline, Adis R&D Insight, Cortellis suite, Micromedex, Informa Pharma Intelligence, Global Data, DataMonitor, DecisionResources, etc.); advanced searching skills using system-specific syntax are preferred.
  • Experience with industry tools and technologies for information collection, analysis and processing (e.g. Endnote, Reference Manager, DistillerSR, BizInt SmartCharts, Tableau, MS PowerBI)
  • Experience with content licensing and management
  • Experience with end-user education and outreach; needs assessment; resource/service usage metrics
  • Experience supporting end-users with access to e-resources
  • Experience with document delivery services (e.g. CCC/Rightfind, Reprints Desk/Article Galaxy) and copyright clearance
