Senior Digital Asset Management Librarian

As we embark on our digital transformation journey with the implementation of a new enterprise-wide Digital Asset Management system, we're seeking a talented Senior Digital Asset Management Librarian to join our team.

As our DAM Librarian, you'll manage a vast library of hundreds of thousands of assets including:

  • High-resolution product and event photography
  • Design files (source files and final artwork)
  • Marketing collateral and campaign materials
  • Video content and motion graphics
  • Web-optimized assets and graphics
  • Written content and documentation
  • Brand guidelines and style guides

You'll ensure seamless access to this extensive collection across global markets, playing a pivotal role in maintaining the foundation of our digital asset strategy while enabling efficient collaboration between our creative teams, marketing departments, and international offices.

A Day in the Life

  • Facilitate the adoption of our new enterprise DAM system, working closely with stakeholders to establish best practices and workflows
  • Administer DAM user licensing by managing user roles, permissions, and access controls across global teams
  • Maintain an intuitive taxonomy system and metadata schemas that accommodates our diverse brand portfolio and multi-market needs
  • Lead asset migrations, bulk uploads, and metadata normalization initiatives
  • Organize digital assets across all file types and formats
  • Train and support global teams across different time zones on DAM system usage and best practices
  • Collaborate with our creative teams to ensure all new assets are properly tagged, categorized, stored, and made accessible
  • Monitor asset usage rights and expiration dates across our global markets
  • Generate insights on asset utilization and user behavior to optimize our digital asset strategy
  • Spearhead the relationship with our DAM vendor to address technical issues, updates, and feature requests
  • Evaluate and implement system upgrades, new features, and performance optimizations
  • Collaborate with IT and marketing technology teams to integrate the DAM with project management systems via APIs and connectors
  • Enforce processes for asset updates and version control to prevent outdated or duplicate usage
  • Periodically audit assets to confirm relevance, compliance, and branding accuracy

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in library science, information science, or related field
  • Experience in digital asset management or similar role
  • Experience in taxonomy development and metadata management
  • Familiarity with creative operations, marketing, or publication management
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a methodical approach to file architecture and demonstrated ability to design and maintain complex hierarchical systems with meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Aprimo DAM or similar enterprise DAM platforms
  • Knowledge of wellness, health, or consumer packaged goods industry
