The Circulation Division of the Provo City Library at Academy Square is looking for a part-time Page to help organize and re-shelve library materials.

Job Details
What is the compensation?
$10.00 per hour. (Payment will be made by direct deposit.)
Part-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following great perks: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.
What will I do?
  • Performs routine, recurring tasks such as: organizing and re-shelving library materials, collecting book drops, pulling holds, and shelf reading.
  • Assists library staff as needed and performs other related work as required.

What requirements do I need to apply?
  • Ability to read, spell, alphabetize, count.
  • Three (3) months of customer service experience OR the ability to follow directions, and interact with the public at a level sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age at time of application.

What are the hours?
Approximately twenty (20) hours per week. Weeknights and weekends will be required. Specific schedule to be discussed at interview and is subject to change.
What are the physical and environmental factors?
Requires bending, stretching, shelving books (on eight-foot shelves), pushing and pulling book carts that weigh up to 175-200 pounds, standing for up to four hours at a time, lifting up to 25 pounds, and dealing with the public in sometimes stressful circumstances.
What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on August 19, 2026Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
