Job description

Library Service Desk Assistant

Number of Openings: 18

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

Assisting library patrons and special projects as assigned

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Primarily staffing the Service Desks but may also work with other departments in the library on special projects.
  • Checking in and checking out patron materials, assisting with the computers and printer, helping patrons locate items, sorting, shelving, shelf reading, processing the daily shipments of materials, helping students connect with a librarian for research help and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • This position involves direct interaction with students, faculty, staff and visitors.
  • We are looking for workers who possess good customer service skills, while maintaining a professional manner with peers.
  • Worker must be reliable, accurate, attentive to detail, and self-motivated.
