Summary Answer reference questions and supervise student assistants in absence of permanent staff and security of collection. Career Readiness Competencies: Communication Professionalism Technology Essential Functions Answer reference questions from faculty, staff, students, and visiting researchers Assist patrons at public service desk and on phone Supervise student assistance in absence of permanent staff Enforce library policies and procedures Responsible for Library security, operating library security systems and emergency procedures Assist library staff with processing of materials Work with library catalog and research databases, patron records Circulation of materials, shelving and retrieving materials, donation assistance Minimum Qualifications Graduate student in Music, Popular Culture, American Culture, Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, etc. Customer service-oriented Able to follow directions Assist with the promotion of library materials through displays/display cases/tours Able to work nights and weekends as well as during the work week Able to scan and photocopy materials Ability to lift items/boxes (50 pounds or less) Bowling Green State University is an equal opportunity employer.
