Keene State College invites applications for an Assistant Clinical Professor faculty position in the Safety and Construction Sciences Department beginning August 2026. We seek faculty who can create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment, integrate real-world applications into their teaching, and contribute to curriculum development that reflects evolving industry practices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and service, actively engaging students through project-based learning, internships, and professional development opportunities. We value candidates with industry experience and relevant certifications. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Duties/Responsibilities

This role involves teaching undergraduate and potential graduate courses in various formats, including classroom, laboratory, and partially online. Key responsibilities include curriculum development, laboratory management, student advisement, and college service. Candidates are expected to maintain their professional development and participate in service activities for the program, department, and college. Candidates should have a commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student body, including first-generation college students. Promoting critical thinking, problem solving, and civic engagement is essential.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Clinical Professor.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related field.

  • A minimum of 1 year of collegiate teaching experience OR 5 years of training experience.

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Occupational Safety and Health, demonstrating hands-on expertise in applying occupational safety and health principles in real-world, non-academic environments. This experience should highlight effective risk management, compliance with safety regulations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in high-risk industries.

  • BCSP CSP or CIH Designation or the ability to receive such a designation upon 1 year of hire.

  • Ability to provide evidence of Service work that aligns with SOHAS Department Guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold board-certified designations or maintain professional engineer licensure.

  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in the construction industry.

  • Ability to demonstrate their knowledge in HOP, Safety II, and SIF Prevention, as well as Systems and Behavioral Sciences

Compensation Pay Range:

$65,720
