As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Part Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a public-facing library location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, assist visitors and staff, document activities using computer or tablet tools, and provide professional communication and customer service. Pay Rate: $19.30 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day Time

Monday 12:30 PM - 09:30 PM

Friday 11:30 AM - 08:30 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and patrons by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a library environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public areas, staff spaces, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with maintaining orderly entry and exit procedures for visitors, deliveries, and authorized personnel.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
