Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Tablet Guided Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a public library setting, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support visitors and staff with exceptional customer service. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and use technology as needed while representing Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, teamwork-focused, and integrity-driven culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, patrons, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of public areas, reading rooms, entrances, exits, stairwells, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access control procedures for staff-only areas, deliveries, and special events in accordance with site policies.
  • Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
