Position Summary
This position is the administrator for the Holman Library, Media Services, and Tutoring Resource Center at Green River College, reporting to the Executive Dean and serving on the Deans Committee. The work location for this position is on the main campus in Auburn, with some flexibility to work remotely on occasion. Some regional travel is required.
About the College
Green River College (GRC) has four campuses, the main campus in Auburn with satellite campuses in Kent, Enumclaw, and downtown Auburn. Green River serves high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English as a second language, and Continuing Education students. The 8,700 FTE student body is 34% Academic Transfer, 30% Professional-Technical, 11% Adult Basic Education, and 25% Continuing & Community Education. Beyond the traditional associate degrees and certificates, students may pursue Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in select programs. About the Library, Media Center, and the Tutoring Resource Center The Holman Library comprises four full-time and five part-time librarians, three full-time circulation staff with several part-time employees, and a cataloger. The library's robust collection includes 40,000 physical books, 400 physical serials, 700,000 eBooks and over 100 databases. The library serves students seven days a week and participates in a consortium that provides 24/7 online reference chat service.
The Media Center has three staff members who support faculty by digitizing content and providing streaming video for online and hybrid courses. They provide hands-on support by setting up and troubleshooting specialized equipment beyond the standard classroom workstation.
The Tutoring Resource Center has two staff members and is one of five tutoring locations on campus, offering tutoring in sciences, computer science, business, economics and other disciplines.
Position Responsibilities
Vision & Planning
  • Implements culturally responsive, inclusive, and student-centered programs and operations that address barriers for historically underserved and marginalized communities in South King County; uses quantitative and qualitative data, including student feedback, to recommend flexible service delivery modalities that support improve access, belonging, persistence, and equitable student outcomes.
  • Ensures Library services and programs align with institution vision and priorities and enhances the experiences of students and staff.
  • Leads the planning, implementing, evaluating, and accountability of programs, processes, and operations related to Library, Media Center, and the Tutoring Resource Center.
  • Supports the Library's information literacy program and advocates for information literacy initiatives throughout the college.
  • Advances digital equity by identifying and addressing barriers related to technology access, digital literacy, instructional resources, media services, tutoring access, and library use.
Supervision & Oversight
  • Develops and implements minimum performance and collection standards for Library services. Reviews standards and evaluates effectiveness to continually improve services.
  • Monitors the development of technologies and practices that will enhance the College Library services.
  • Responsible for implementation of accessibility standards across library, media, and tutoring services in physical spaces, digital platforms, instructional materials, communications, and vendor-supported resources.
  • Supervises faculty and staff using equitable, transparent, and culturally responsive supervision practices, including clear expectations, regular feedback, professional growth opportunities, and support for employee belonging and success in addition to and in accordance with both staff and faculty collective bargaining agreements.
  • Participates in hiring and faculty review.
  • Maintains the physical space of the Library, which includes building projects, keeping abreast of maintenance and furnishing needs, technology needs, and safety concerns.
Budget Responsibilities
  • Plans the allocation of resources for library services, collections, staffing, and facilities.
  • Manages college budget allocations, annual Foundation funds dedicated to library resources, and the Student Technology Fee.
  • Oversees invoices, payments, and agreements relating to subscriptions, employee contracts, purchase agreements, vendors, etc.
  • Chairs the Student Technology Fee Committee and coordinates its allocation of resources in collaboration with student representatives and other college stakeholders.
Compliance & Accreditation
  • Establishes, monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes and procedures related to all local, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidance.
  • Monitors programs to ensure compliance with applicable accrediting bodies.
  • Evaluates and communicates the impact of potential legal or regulatory changes on the Library and the College.
Other Duties
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA -accredited university
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in academic libraries, including three (3) years of higher education leadership experience, such as program or project management, leading a team or workgroup, or other related activities.
  • Supervisory experience that reflects collaboration, inclusion, and support for diverse teams.
  • Experience managing a complex budget.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to share information clearly and accessibly with diverse audiences using appropriate communication methods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility, and culturally responsive practices with colleagues, students, and communities from diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
