Job description

The Digital Resources and Data Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS), ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of student records and data. This position serves as the school's primary PowerSchool resource, supporting attendance, scheduling, grading, transcripts, report cards, state reporting, and data analysis functions.

The Administrator collaborates with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to ensure efficient student information management, provide technical assistance and training, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

In addition, this position supports the daily operation of the school library, including the management of print and digital resources, circulation systems, and student access to information and technology resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PowerSchool Administration and Data Management

  • Serve as the school administrator for the PowerSchool Student Information System.

  • Maintain the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and security of student records and data.

  • Manage student enrollment, attendance, scheduling, grades, transcripts, report cards, and graduation records.

  • Collaborate with school principals and program administrators to develop and maintain student schedules and course offerings.

  • Generate, analyze, and distribute reports to support instructional, operational, and compliance needs.

  • Provide PowerSchool training and technical support to administrators, teachers, and staff.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors and technical support as needed.

  • Support state, federal, and organizational reporting requirements through accurate data collection and management.

  • Develop and maintain procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency across departments.

  • Assist leadership teams in utilizing student data to support program evaluation and decision-making.

Library Services

  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and accessible library environment.

  • Manage circulation, cataloging, shelving, inventory, and preservation of library materials.

  • Process new acquisitions and maintain library records.

  • Assist students and staff in locating and accessing print and digital resources.

  • Support information literacy and responsible use of technology and information resources.

  • Assist with library-based activities and instructional support as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide technology-related support connected to student information systems and digital resources.

  • Provides support for curriculum development and accreditation initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Information Systems, Library Science, Educational Technology, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of student scheduling, attendance, grading, transcripts, report cards, and student record management.

  • Experience generating reports, analyzing data, and supporting compliance and state reporting requirements.

  • Advanced proficiency with PowerSchool, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.


Security Clearance

  • Required clearances include medical clearance, fingerprinted by the NYC Board of Ed, and SCR and SEL clearance.


Physical Requirement

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
