Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Responsible for elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements.
• Research and exploration of user requirements, costs, and benefits in support of documentation required for the demand management process.
• Responsible for analyzing the business needs to identify new processes and process improvements that will meet those needs.
• Documents current business processes and models to define requirements and/or gaps.
• Analyze detailed system factors including input/output requirements, information and paper flow, hardware, and software needs.
• Analyze “soft" system factors including roles, responsibilities, policy, culture, etc.
• Evaluate the impact of potential software and process changes on the organization.
• Develop and facilitate groups as necessary in pursuit of eliciting and defining requirements.
• Assist in the creation of the business case documentation.
• Understanding of architectural consistency and usability standards.
• Defines and develops user test cases and validates test results during testing.
• Executes unit and functional test cases.
• May conduct system demonstrations and training sessions, as well as participate in design/review of training content.
• Plays a third level support role by helping to troubleshoot and resolve issues with production systems.
• Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or another related field or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience leading data migration requirements from legacy systems into a new ERP (Sage X3) environment
• Strong hands-on expertise in requirements elicitation, documentation, and management, with emphasis on data mapping, transformation rules, and validation
• Deep understanding of data structures, data quality, and migration best practices, with the ability to identify gaps and risks early
• Self-driven and accountable professional with strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to drive outcomes with minimal oversight
• Working knowledge of Confluence and JIRA.
• Experience in any of the following business areas is desired: Sales operations, order entry, accounting, finance, procurement, warehouse operations, order management, and order fulfillment.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ business analysis or systems analysis experience is preferred.
• Bonus: Sage X3 experience (ERP).

Job Title: Computer Operator (Tape Librarian)

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 12 Months

Basic Purpose and Scope:

The Tape Librarian will care for and maintain the inventory of magnetic computer tapes, NAS/USB disks within the Houston Tape Library. The Tape Librarian will be responsible for final verification of all client’s deliverable disks and tapes for the routine maintenance of the tape library.

Principal Responsibilities: (All Database Related)

  1. Serve as primary individual to perform projects within the tape library.
  2. Serve as primary focal point for the xmittal program.
  3. Coordinate and/or manage all tape pools (create, expand, reduce pools and create labels for all tapes)
  4. Verify all disks/tapes for outgoing client shipments.
  5. Register all incoming media and document it.
  6. Address any media catalog issues for users or archive personnel.
  7. Manage all media error reporting, including flagging media with soft and hard errors in appropriate catalog.
  8. Coordinate with Computer Operators for daily operations and media needs for the tape library (silo).
  9. Generate media reports as required by DMS & IT DP.
  10. Coordinate activities required to locate media via database searches. Other Library Responsibilities: (Could be shared or handled by computer operator)
  11. Ensure proper care and handling procedures for computer tapes.
  12. Retrieve, file, sort media for internal use. (WH, Archive, User)
  13. Retrieve and box media for outgoing shipments.
  14. QC, label, and file media from incoming shipments.
  15. Load and eject media in silos via generated lists.
  16. Maintain and follow all library work procedures and instructions.
  17. Perform routine maintenance of the tape library.
  18. Search for “not in rack” tapes and coordinate results with Supervisor.
  19. Ensure compliance with all relevant Quality Assurance procedures, QHSE requirements and departmental working practices
  20. Other duties assigned by the group leader or supervisor.

Relationships: Internal: DMS Users, Shipping, Inventory/Archive Coordinators, Network/System Groups, Computer Operations Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent** or College Degree

Experience: 3 to 5 years of tape technician or computer operations experience.

Skills:

Able to work independently.

Familiar with all aspects of tape library operations.

Strong computer skills and understanding of databases.

Knowledge of MMS tape management.

Disciplined and well organized.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time constraints.

Capable of training and assisting back-up personnel.

Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands: Able to lift 20 -25 lbs.

Travel: Minimal local travel.
