Job description

Join Midstate Radiology Associates (MRA) as a Full Time Radiology Follow Up Representative working on-site in Wallingford, CT.

Position Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM). The starting hourly rate for this position is between $21.00 and $26.30.

Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience.

Job Summary:

Provides a full range of varied, multi-skilled secretarial, clerical, and administrative support under general direction that requires creativity, and independent, discretionary judgment, and confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customer are met. Reports to assigned supervisor.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Monitors Nuance Follow-Up Manager Dashboard.
  2. Reviews open recommendations that have not been completed/closed.
  3. Follows standard work process to provide closed loop communication with the referring provider on follow up care for patients.
  4. Maintains workflows and seek opportunities for enhancing processes.
  5. Backs up Image Library team members to monitor Nuance critical finding software to ensure results are communicated efficiently to ordering physicians. Connects ordering physician with appropriate radiologist in applicable situations.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Guidelines:

Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program (AAMA)
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • At least one year of customer service experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Quality assurance and customer service principles and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.
  • Capacity to relate to patients of all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Current Nuance reporting system, Epic and Sectra PACS system.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Ability to understand and follow specifications and instructions. Attention to detail is required for success.
  • Basic keyboard skills with proficiency in use of personal computer.

Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting, standing, or kneeling for prolonged periods.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
