RIVA Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate, People & Culture to support the daily operations of our HR function. As part of a small but mighty People & Culture team, this individual will play a key role across multiple HR disciplines-including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and talent development-ensuring smooth processes and a positive employee experience. This position will work onsite in Reston, VA with flexibility for remote work and periodic in-office responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Benefits, Reporting & Compliance
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including processing enrollments, changes, and terminations for health, welfare, and retirement plans.
  • Reconcile benefits data to ensure alignment with carrier records/invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage employee leave requests in compliance with policies and labor laws.
  • Support annual open enrollment events by scheduling education sessions, preparing materials, and collecting data for benefit recommendations.
  • Compile and submit federal and state reporting (e.g., EEO, AAP, ACA) and support ad hoc reporting needs.

Onboarding
  • Collect and review new hire documentation for compliance and completion.
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly orientation sessions in partnership with corporate departments to onboard new employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely benefits communication to new hires, including packet preparation and vendor coordination.

Employment Records & Support
  • Respond to employment verification requests in accordance with legal/privacy standards.
  • Prepare offboarding documentation and benefits communications for separating employees.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, agreements, promotions, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage internal resources such as the job description library, employee handbook, and other HR documentation.

Talent Management & Development
  • Support planning and execution of talent development initiatives, including communications, scheduling, tracking, and logistics.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering performance management programs, providing system support, sending reminders, and collecting feedback.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a corporate environment, with at least 3 years in a human resources role.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines such as onboarding, compliance, benefits, and learning and development.
  • Strong organizational and task-tracking skills with the ability to prioritize under pressure.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

Salary: Up to $80,000K / a year based on experience
