We have an immediate opening to hire an Associate Fragrance Development Managerfor our Creative Center in NYC! This role will manage Evaluation projects, validate and evaluate fragrances in accordance with customer needs and requirements, playing the part of the "consumer" and brand expert in selecting fragrances for submission. Proactively identify white space within brand offering, and fragrance nuances that align with brand DNA. The Associate Fragrance Development Manager level is a developmental role, working with smaller projects and clients while developing competencies for the next level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Make fragrance selections through an exchange and collaboration between perfumery and evaluation, which include face-to-face smelling sessions, open dialogue and shared team decision-making.
  • Manage assigned project portfolio by identifying the objectives of each project: 1) fragrance characteristics, 2) timetable, 3) priority, 4) cost, 5) competitive price, and 6) individual customer or broad market potential
  • Gain proficiency in selecting and developing commercially viable fragrances for assigned accounts
  • Train on the job and self-development in the skills and responsibilities of fragrance evaluation
  • Act in a supporting capacity to the evaluation department for floating accounts
  • Act in a supporting capacity in the absence of the Evaluation Assistant to include secondary support to the Fragrance Service Coordinator
  • Gain knowledge of assigned accounts including product lines, current fragrances, and submission requirements
  • Continuously enhance market knowledge and consumer understanding in given area(s) of specialization, staying current with new market products, consumer tastes and olfactive trends
  • Coordinate library review sessions
  • Direct perfumery with new ideas for the expansion of the library
  • Interacts with:
    • Customers, Industry Contacts and Vendors
    • MANE Affiliates
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • B.S./B.A. required, 3+ years functional/technical experience
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Project and system management skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to leverage digital communication and collaboration tools

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, and applicable legal considerations. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is awarded based on both individual and company performance.
