Rutgers University - Newark, an urban public research anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Clerical Assistant. The Part-Time Billing Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and payment processing. This role supports the Business Office & The Senior Program Coordinator by ensuring students' accounts are billed correctly, records are maintained accurately, and billing discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
  • Prepare review and process invoices and/or billing statements
  • Verify bill data for accuracy and completeness
  • Enter billing information into the accounting or billing system. Ex. Notations for each student's account with the date the invoices were sent.
  • Respond to internal /external billing inquiries.
  • Maintain organized and confidential bill records
  • Identify and resolve any billing discrepancies
  • Support month-end or periodic reposting as assigned
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed
