Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate supports brand, retail, and product marketing initiatives within a fast growing, highly regulated cannabis environment. This role balances creativity, organization, and compliance awareness while collaborating across design, retail, and operations teams. The ideal individual is detail oriented, proactive, and passionate about strengthening the District Cannabis brand across digital and physical touchpoints.

Your role in caring for our plants:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with planning and executing marketing campaigns for product launches, promotions, and retail initiatives.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all digital and physical
  • Organize and maintain a digital asset library, including photos, videos, and product
  • In partnership with sales and marketing leadership, conduct routine audits of web-based retail partner sites to ensure correct and up-to-date product images are published.
  • Assist in executing, including planning, set up, and attendance, local marketing initiatives, including local partnerships and external event support in partnership with DCM Inc.
  • Assist in set-up of visual merchandising at 3rd party retailers
  • Assist with promotional item organization at facilities, including inventory of new deliveries, communication of low inventory
  • Assist with merchandise backstock organization and delivery between facilities and MD and DC Retail
  • Execute the assembly of promotional giveaways, including but not limited to: quarterly budtender gift bags, holiday promotional items, and event gift bags
  • Assist in the planning and execution of brand events throughout Maryland and Washington D.C, including but not limited to: event set-up and breakdown, organization and distribution of print and promotional materials
  • Assist Marketing Director and Marketing Manager with administrative tasks as needed
  • Manage and fulfill physical marketing requests (swag, banners, printed collateral, in-store assets) in partnership with design and production teams to deliver timely, brand consistent
  • Collaborate with the retail team to identify marketing needs across store
  • Submit marketing content for approval and ensure final assets are correctly
  • Ensure all marketing assets comply with state cannabis advertising
  • Communicate content gaps, new assets, or store specific marketing
  • Support cross functional communication between marketing, retail, product, and operations teams.
  • Pitch new creative marketing concepts and promotional ideas to support industry trend
  • Participate in team marketing meetings and planning

  • We prefer candidates with a Bachelor's degree (any field) or equivalent work or cannabis experience.
  • We ask that you have at least one (1) year of marketing experience and/or one (1) year of cannabis industry experience.
  • We ask that you are proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • We ask that you are willing and able to visit all sites (Hagerstown, MD & Washington, C.) occasionally.
