Middle School Aide - 5.5 Hours per day

The Highland Local School District has an opening for one (1) aide. The position will be for 5.5
hours per day, 189 days per year beginning with the 2026-2027 School Year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements include High School Diploma or G.E.D. and obtaining background checks and a
license from the State of Ohio to serve as an aide.
The person in this position must:
  • have a strong work ethic and attendance record.
  • exhibit flexibility and have positive interactive abilities with students and adults.
  • demonstrate complete understanding and acceptance of the rules of confidentiality.
  • be able and confident to run workflows, (checking in/out books, item searches, issue
    fines, run reports).
  • have experience with PowerSchool, (student searches, update bulletin board with
    announcements.
  • be able to use Google Drive and sites and work with Microsoft Office.
  • be able to supervise large groups of students in study hall, at lunch, and at recess.

JOB DUTIES:
Duties can include supervision and support in library, study hall, cafeteria, and recess and
general office assistance that could include distribution of medication, answering phone calls,
and clerical duties.
SALARY:
The person selected to fill this position will be placed at the appropriate step of the salary
schedule contained in the negotiated agreement between the HSS and the Highland Board of
Education.
