A typical day for a Direct Support Professional includes the following: 

  • Assisting your clients with their community goals as written in their plan of care 
  • Community Living Supports are used to increase or maintain the following: 
  • personal self-sufficiency, 
  • facilitating an individual's achievement of his goals of community inclusion and participation, 
  • Independence or productivity. 
  • Supports provided in the participant's residence or in community settings (including, but not limited to, libraries, city pools, camps, etc.)

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED/GSD 
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Auto insurance and reliable transportation 
  • Dedication to professional development, including organizational and state-required training
