Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of CSN Libraries and in coordination with the Charleston, North Las Vegas and Henderson Campus Lead Librarians, CSN Libraries seek to hire part-time librarians to provide reference services in-person and online in a culturally diverse and busy campus environment.

Each of our campus libraries and our online ask-a-librarian service serve the College of Southern Nevada with a student population of approximately 18,000 (FTE). The librarians hired will provide student-centered, in-person and online research assistance to users and participate in the assessment of library services.

Mentorship, training and other professional development opportunities, especially in connection to library instruction, assessment and references services are available and encouraged.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters of Library Science or Master of Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program, from a regionally accredited college or university

  • Professional and pedagogical commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience

  • Demonstrate an interest in learning and using emerging technologies to improve library services and instruction

  • Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching and working with students

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
