Salary Range: $16.56-$17.88 or per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Maximum salary upon new hire is $16.56.
Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: Working Hours: 15-20 hours per week. Office hours are from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hours may vary, some evenings may be required. Working Conditions: Requires ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Requires ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs. Requires long periods of mental and visual concentration. Travel to various campus departments may be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong oral and written communication skills. Required proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Purview, ArchivesSpace, DSpace, or other digital repositories preferred.
Supervision: Supervision Received: Reports to the Archivist and Records Manager.Supervision Given: May direct part-time staff as assigned.
Job Function
Support the Archives and Records Management (ARM) department by assisting with the organization, preservation, and accessibility of institutional records and archival collections. This role focuses on hands-on archival processing, data entry, and routine records management tasks that contribute to the preservation and documentation of the college's history.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with physical and electronic arrangement and description of archival and permanent records.
  • Provide general informational and reference assistance to staff, faculty, and researchers.
  • Support digital initiatives related to archival collections and retention workflows as assigned.
  • Update and maintain audit of physical and electronic records.
  • Help to facilitate routine records management activities including retrieval, transfer, and tracking of physical institutional records.
  • Support electronic records retention activities under the guidance of the Archives and Records Management supervisor.
  • Help to create and maintain physical and digital exhibits across campuses and online platforms.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.Associates degree preferred.
Qualifications
At least one or more years of progressive clerical or confidential data entry work. Experience in archival or library settings or using digital repository systems is preferred.
Part-time employees are eligible for some Macomb Community College benefits including retirement with the Michigan Office of Retirement Services, as well as voluntary options for retirement. Part-time employees are also eligible for accrual of PTO and tuition waivers.
