Brightside Child & Family Advocacy provides services to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening and supporting healthy family relationships.Since 1991, Savannah CASA has recruited, trained, screened, and supervised volunteers to provide individualized advocacy for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers advocate for children in foster care by collecting and delivering objective information to the judges of the Juvenile Court.After 30 years of advocating for thousands of foster care children, Savannah CASA has evolved to serve more families and children in crisis. Under the new name Brightside Child & Family Advocacy, our organization provides a wide range of services to prevent child abuse and neglect in Chatham County.Brightside launched The Bright House, a supervised visitation and family support center. Parents develop healthy relationships with their children in a warm, homelike environment while participating in court-mandated supervised visitation. As the 2021 recipient of the Georgia CASA Award of Excellence, Brightside Advocacy will continue its high-quality and personalized advocacy for children in foster care. With more than 200 trained volunteers, Brightside's Savannah CASA program ensures that children in our community experiencing foster care have a committed advocate helping to change their stories.Brightside Child and Family Advocacy is the Prevent Child Abuse Georgia (PCA Georgia) local council for Chatham County. As Prevent Child Abuse Greater Savannah, we expand current programs to bolster child abuse and neglect prevention efforts and awareness in the community. Recently, Brightside Advocacy added our newest program, Brighter Futures, which works with young people aging out of foster care.

Key Responsibilities
Office Management & Organization
- Maintain a tidy, efficient, and welcoming office environment where everything has a place, and everyone can focus.
- Develop and implement systems to improve office flow, including document management, inventory tracking, and space utilization.
- Manage supply orders, equipment maintenance, and vendor coordination to keep everything running like clockwork.
- Greet visitors warmly and ensure staff and guests feel valued, seen, and supported.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and document preparation.
- Answer phones and emails, route inquiries, and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all communications.
- Prepare reports, forms, letters, and records with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain digital filing systems in alignment with confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Develop and implement efficient systems and processes to support daily operational needs and respond effectively to emerging situations.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline administrative workflows and enhance overall office efficiency.
Culture & Communication
- Contribute to a positive and encouraging workplace culture by promoting kindness, helpfulness, and clear communication.
- Lead with a "how can I help?" attitude and offer solutions that enhance efficiency and harmony across teams.
- Coordinate internal communications to ensure staff are informed, engaged, and aligned.
- Assist in planning staff appreciation activities and help nurture a healthy, joyful work environment.
CASA Program Support
- Review incoming CASA volunteer applications, schedule interviews, and assist with interviews as needed.
- Coordinate the administrative tasks of new CASA volunteer training and the swear-in process.
- Keep the CASA volunteer email group up to date and route volunteer inquiries to the appropriate staff.
- Manage background checks for staff and volunteers and order name tags as needed.
- Assist with the coordination of CASA special events, projects, and recruitment efforts as needed.
- Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned by program leadership.

- Much of the work in this position is completed while sitting at a desk and using a computer and phone. It requires talking, hearing, and visual acuity to perform these primary functions.
- Includes traveling to various locations and facilities throughout the county and navigating mobility within various environments. Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Occasionally, it includes reaching above shoulder height or below the waist or lifting to 25 pounds for office equipment, supplies, and materials.
Salary & Benefits
This position is available as part-time or full-time depending on the candidate. Compensation is $18-$22/hour based on experience and education, with benefits including an IRA match, vision, dental, and generous paid time off.
