Job description

The Global Sourcing Specialist will execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories within Libbey's tabletop portfolio. This role will manage cost optimization, supplier performance, and compliance.

This is an individual contributor role, without direct reports. This role will manage a dedicated portfolio of glass and dinnerware products. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze data and market dynamic for assigned product categories
  • Execute category sourcing plans including timelines aligning with KPI targets
  • Strategic sourcing activities: manage supplier matrix; ensures cost optimization and supply chain diversification per category strategy
  • Collaborate with NPD to achieve target costs and launch timelines
  • Support CPQ opportunities through RFQ activities
  • Research and collaborate with Quality on potential new suppliers
  • Actively manage suppliers’ performance through scorecards KPIs and continuous improvement programs.
  • Participate in QBR for assigned key suppliers
  • Execute contingency plans and dual sourcing strategies to mitigate supply risks.
  • Collaborate with QC to ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Monitor geopolitical, regulatory, and economic factors impacting supply chains and form recommendations to optimize results
  • Partner with internal teams to support organizational goals and KPI targets

 

 REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree with preferred major in Supply Chain, International Business, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years in a global sourcing or procurement role
  • Direct or related industry experience preferred
  • Foreign language skills a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to communicate and present information clearly and succinctly.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively. Deal effectively with all races, nationalities, cultures in a professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Willingness to team with others and communicate differing perspectives. 
  • Capable of working independently and mentor team members/direct reports.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking - analyze, evaluate, and form judgment
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills. Critical thinking skills to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish goals. Detail-oriented and consistent follow-through required.
  • Always uphold and act according to the Libbey values and conduct business aligned with our code of business conduct.
  • Ability to work flexible hours from home at night is appropriate to conduct business with counterparts in different time zones.
  • Up to 20% of travel is required, some will be international
