Job description

We currently have the opportunity for an individual to join our paving team as a Paving Crew Groundman. LHC, Inc. is based in Kalispell, MT.

We are seeking hard-working motivated individuals who are looking for a long-term career in the construction industry. This is an entry level position providing the selected candidate the opportunity to develop a unique skillset and great opportunity for career growth.


Key Functions

  • Provide on the job support to the paving crew by performing labor tasks such as raking and shoveling
  • Prepare job sites prior to paving by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Operate hand tools and power tools
  • Load or unload construction materials
  • Learn to operate and care for construction equipment and machines
  • Perform site clean-up
  • Assist equipment operators and other skilled labor when necessary
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Perform any other duties instructed by the supervisor


Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of labor experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in Construction is also preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of lifting 50 to 75 lbs. regularly
  • Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement
  • Sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Bend at the waist, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
  • Climb ladders/steps
  • Continuous use of hand tools for extended periods of time
  • Walk varying distances and on uneven ground at times
  • Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, and vibrations.


Compensation


  • Hourly rate of pay $24 to $26 an hour based on experience. Prevailing wage will apply on selected jobs.

    • Years 4 or more - Employer covers 100% of total (family) premiums
