Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking a nondestructive examination Level II RT(CR) Inspector to join our NDE lab team in Bloomington, MN.
The Computed Radiographer (CR) Level II Inspector is responsible for performing nondestructive testing using Computed Radiography (CR) methods in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures. This role requires a certified Level II technician capable of independently setting up, calibrating, and performing CR inspections, as well as interpreting and evaluating results.
The technician will also be responsible for customer communication and coordination related to weld qualification and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) projects. This includes communicating with customers regarding project requirements, scheduling, inspection needs, documentation, and ensuring work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.
The technician will also support other NDE methods, including Liquid Penetrant (PT) and Magnetic Particle (MT), as needed, and assist with general laboratory activities and projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform CR inspections in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.
  • Set up and calibrate CR equipment, ensuring proper technique and image quality.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports and supporting documentation.
  • Interface with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support as needed.
  • Assist in developing inspection techniques and plans for various applications.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of lab processes, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Participate in quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions within the Level II certification scope.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule based on project and client needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education in nondestructive examination is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in radiographic testing or related NDE methods
  • Experience with CR systems and imaging software required
  • Level II RT certification required, Level II RT(CR) strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with DR, PT, & MT inspection methods preferred
  • Certifications: DR, PT, MT preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office
