Machine Operator (Flexo Folder Gluer Operator)

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator (Flexo Folder Gluer Operator) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used in the production of corrugated boxes. This role ensures that equipment runs efficiently, products meet quality and customer specifications, and production goals are achieved while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

- Target 85% run-time efficiency and 1.2% waste.

- Verify print registration, slot alignment, and glue integrity on first piece.

- Complete setups within standard time using pre-staged tooling.

- Check print density, ink viscosity, and color consistency hourly.

- Inspect bundle count, folds, and overall box quality throughout run.

- Record causes for idle time >5 minutes and lead first-level troubleshooting.

- During downtime: clean anilox rolls, prep next ink set, confirm die change readiness.

- Participate in continuous improvement to reduce changeover loss.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
  • Amtech/Encore ERP experience preferred.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to do basic math (add/subtract) and calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Basic computer/data entry skills required.
  • Solid understanding of safety, quality, and production controls.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 9th grade education, high school diploma, or GED preferred but not required.
