What is a Level 3 Security officer?

Level 3 Security officers are highly trained security professionals who are authorized to carry firearms and have advanced skills in handling security situations. They typically complete additional training beyond lower-level security licenses, including firearms proficiency, emergency response, and conflict resolution. Level 3 officers are often employed in roles that require a higher level of responsibility, such as protecting high-value assets, working in armed security positions, or serving as supervisors for other security staff.

Level 3 Security professionals are often responsible for responding to complex security incidents such as advanced persistent threats, data breaches, or sophisticated malware attacks. During these situations, they work closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams to investigate, contain, and remediate threats. Effective communication and coordination are critical, as Level 3 Security specialists may also guide junior security analysts and interface with external partners or law enforcement. Their role often involves providing detailed incident reports and recommending improvements to prevent future incidents.
