The NDE Corporate Level III serves as the organization's highest technical authority for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) programs and is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical standards, procedures, certifications, and quality systems across the company. This position provides strategic technical leadership, ensures compliance with applicable industry codes and standards, and serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for clients, operations, business development, and executive leadership.

The Corporate Level III partners closely with Operations, Quality, HSE, Business Development, and executive management to support operational excellence, develop new NDE methodologies for commercialization, evaluate emerging technologies, and expand the company's service offerings. This role also represents the company during client meetings, technical presentations, audits, industry conferences, and trade shows.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
  • Serve as the company's designated ASNT/ACCP/ISO 9712 Level III technical authority for assigned NDE methods.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain NDE procedures, work instructions, technical standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, regulations, and client specifications (ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, PHMSA, etc.).
  • Evaluate and implement new NDE technologies, methodologies, and equipment to support operational growth and commercialization.
  • Design, administer, and maintain the company's NDE training, qualification, testing, and certification programs in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, and client requirements.
  • Review and approve technician certifications, qualification records, and competency development plans.
  • Oversees the accountability, assignment, calibration, maintenance, and organization of all NDE equipment, ensuring inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and equipment readiness for field operations.
  • Mentor, train, and develop Level I, II, and future Level III personnel through classroom, field, and client training.
  • Monitor technician performance and inspection quality through audits, technical reviews, and field evaluations, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to operations and project management teams, including procedure reviews, troubleshooting, equipment evaluations, and specialized project planning.
  • Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) during client meetings, proposal development, presentations, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Support business development by identifying growth opportunities, developing technical marketing materials, and fostering strong client relationships.
  • Assist executive leadership with strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, operational initiatives, and the development of new service offerings.
  • Act as the technical liaison between executive leadership, operations, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company HSE policies, regulatory requirements, and the highest standards of business ethics and integrity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current ASNT or ACCP/ISO 9712 Level III certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) required
  • Additional Level III certifications in PT, RT, ET, or VT preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive NDE experience, including pipeline integrity, oil & gas fabrication, and field operations
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership, supervisory, or technical management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of:
  • Pipeline integrity inspections
  • Construction / Fabrication inspection
  • Oil & gas industry operations
  • Applicable ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, and client specifications
  • Experience developing written procedures and technical standards
  • Experience managing technician certification programs
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required
WORKING CONDITIONS

Internal - Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.

External - Work is normally performed in a field environment with exposure to various weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves sitting, standing, walking and bending. Work normally requires reaching in all directions, seeing and hearing with or without correction, applying basic mathematical skills, writing, and moderate computer keyboard skills. Work may require extended hours to assure project and reporting deadlines are met. Does not require manual work. Overtime exempt.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS

Internal - Frequent contact with clients, vendors, inspectors and other company departments and management.

External - Work requires travel outside of the office and involves frequent contact with external clients and vendors.
