Fall construction is ramping up across Texas, and the demand for experienced Voice & Data Technicians continues to grow.
TradeSTAR is partnering with a respected Texas-based low-voltage contractor to hire Level II Voice & Data Technicians for major commercial construction and data center projects throughout the state.

This contractor has been providing Electrical engineering, design and installation to Texas businesses and institutions for over 40 years. Over the past four decades they have also developed a robust network services division that focuses on commercial AV, Security Solutions and Network Cabling. Highly awarded and responsible for the electrical and low voltage systems in some of the largest and most notable buildings in Texas, this contractor provides a great opportunity to Electrical and Low Voltage job seekers to start a career or take their career to the next level. Our client maintains brick and mortal locations in all major Texas markets and is a member of multiple trade associations including the Associated General Contractors of America and the Independent Electrical Contractors. Your Role: Level II Voice & Data Technician
As a Level II Technician, you ll take an active role in the installation and delivery of structured cabling and network infrastructure on commercial construction and data center projects.
You ll work alongside Lead Technicians, Foremen, Superintendents, and Project Managers while helping keep installations on schedule, up to standard, and moving forward.
What You ll Be Doing
  • Install and terminate Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cabling
  • Terminate patch panels, 110 blocks, jacks, and fiber enclosures
  • Test, troubleshoot, and certify cabling using Fluke testing equipment
  • Read and work from blueprints, riser diagrams, and construction drawings
  • Install ladder rack, cable tray, J-hooks, supports, and pathways
  • Support rack-and-stack installations and MDF/IDF buildouts
  • Perform data center moves, adds, and changes
  • Assist with production goals and jobsite coordination
  • Lead and mentor Helper and Level I Technicians when needed
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
What We re Looking For
  • 2 4+ years of structured cabling or Voice & Data experience
  • Hands-on experience with copper and fiber optic cabling
  • Fiber termination, splicing, and testing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Fluke testers and cable certification
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams
  • Experience mentoring or directing small crews is a plus
  • Knowledge of EIA/TIA standards preferred
  • Comfortable working in active commercial construction and data center environments
  • Reliable transportation and a professional, dependable attitude
