  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters in the content area
  • Must possess or be eligible for one of the following CTSDE Certifications
    • (165/065) Comprehensive Special Education, K-12

Salary: Salary, work year and working conditions will be in accordance with the current contract between the Board of Education and the Suffield Educators Association (Salary Range $51,730-114,405).
Period of Employment: Accepting applications for the start of the 2026/2027 school year.
Reports to: Building Administrator/Director of Special Services
Position Expectations:
  • Provide specialized programming to students with Autism or other neurodivergent disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to write accurate and thorough assessment reports, IEP's and progress reports.
  • Ability to positively engage teachers, students and families in the learning process.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve learning for all students.
  • Ability to use data to make instructional decisions.
  • Ability to build organizational capacity around best practices, literacy instruction and intervention based on our continuous improvement work.
  • Ability to administer, analyze and interpret comprehensive academic and social emotional evaluations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of special education regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to assess student learning on a continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed
