This role is within our Red Star Yeast team. Red Star delivers a range of high-performing yeast and related products that empower bakers and food manufacturers to create consistent, flavorful, and high-quality baked goods. Backed by Lesaffre and Archer Daniels Midland and supported by modern manufacturing facilities in Cedar Rapids, IA and Dothan, AL, our team blends global expertise with local reliability to bring trusted, innovative yeast solutions to the U.S. and Canadian markets.

What you bring to the table:
As an Inventory Control Tech, you'll support the activities of the maintenance department by maintaining the spare parts storage area, interfacing with the maintenance technicians and supervisors about needs, receiving spare parts inventory and parts distribution.
What you'll do as an Inventory Control Tech:
  • Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs
  • Responsible for maintaining the organization of spare parts and material including, but not limited to: Machine parts, Non- Stock Items (bolts, nuts, fittings, etc.), Lubricants, and External Storage Areas.
  • Installing and moving shelving in storage areas.
  • Organizing and labeling parts locations.
  • Responsible for the receipt and shipment of parts and material:
  • Responsible for physical and electronic receiving of parts and material.
  • Responsible for delivery of all orders to the intended recipient.
  • Responsible for physical and electronic return arrangements for parts and materials.
  • Maintain receiving and shipping documentation for all deliveries and storage of documentation in an orderly fashion.
  • Responsible for entering incoming parts, entering (charging-out) outgoing parts, cycle counting, and part reconciliation in the CMMS.
  • Tracking misc. stock (ex. oil, grease, fuel, lumber, supply bins, etc.) and maintaining appropriate levels.
  • Work in coordination with the Maintenance Planner to prepare parts kits for work orders.
  • Maintain assigned responsibilities as applies to the Maintenance Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Manage the disposal of universal waste (used oil, used batteries, used cans, used bulbs, etc.) in coordination with the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.
  • Meet daily with maintenance technicians, maintenance supervisors, and the Maintenance Manager to understand and support needs.
  • Use when needed the technical documentation available in the department
  • As needed, responsible for retrieving external supplies using a company vehicle.
  • Assist the mechanical and electrical departments when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Warehouse and Maintenance experience is preferred
  • Requires ability to use material handling equipment (Forklift, Hand Jack, etc.)
  • Requires ability to prioritize and organize tasks and follow through to ensure completion of assignments.
  • Communication skills and customer service skills are needed in relationships with technicians, maintenance supervisors, managers, and other departments within the company.
  • Computer proficient with Excel, Word, email, and maintenance software.
  • Requires ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to manage multi tasks.
