Job description

Position Summary

We define fintech partnerships. The Bancorp does more than enable payments innovation. We work side by side with clients, combining deep expertise with a technology-forward approach to deliver creative, practical solutions. We donโ€™t settle for whatโ€™s possible today. We look ahead to whatโ€™s next, helping clients grow and innovate with confidence.

The VP Lending Solutions Architect plays a key role in designing and delivering lending products and partner programs, translating business objectives into thoughtful, well-structured solutions that can be executed effectively within The Bancorpโ€™s environment. This role combines analytical thinking, collaboration, and creativity to shape how products are built, refined, and brought to market. Working closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology, the VP partners across teams to develop solutions that meet partner needs while aligning with regulatory expectations and internal frameworks, using governance processes as a mechanism to strengthen and advance product design.

From concept through launch and beyond, this position drives executionโ€”coordinating cross-functional efforts, solving complex challenges, and maintaining alignment across stakeholders. The VP, Lending Solutions Architect ensures clarity and momentum throughout the product lifecycle, adapts to evolving requirements, and continuously enhances products post-launch by monitoring performance, identifying improvements, and ensuring ongoing alignment with approved structures and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translates partner needs into actionable product requirements and internal deliverables.
  • Supports sales and partner development efforts by advising on new lending product constructs and serving as a subject matter expert on product capabilities, structures, and bank requirements.
  • Facilitates partner communication, including recurring calls, status updates, and working sessions to ensure alignment on requirements and timelines.
  • Leads end-to-end implementation of new products and product enhancements across partner programs.
  • Ensures on-time delivery of key product initiatives through project planning, risk analysis and clear communication.
  • Drives product initiatives through internal approval processes, coordinating with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology stakeholders.
  • Coordinates cross-functional execution, including scheduling meetings, tracking deliverables, and managing dependencies using collaboration tools such as Teams and Outlook.
  • Tracks decisions, risks, issues, and action items to ensure accountability and effective execution across multiple initiatives.
  • Leads ongoing oversight of launched lending products, including facilitating weekly product calls, leading monthly product performance and partner syncs, and coordinating product changes and feature enhancements through governance and implementation processes.
  • Evaluates and manages product change requests, documenting impacts and guiding changes through governance and implementation processes.
  • Monitors adherence to approved product designs, policies, and controls; escalates issues and drives corrective actions as needed.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains product documentation, governance materials, and approval artifacts.
  • Maintains centralized product documentation and knowledge repositories within SharePoint to support transparency and audit readiness.
  • Supports audits, exams, and regulatory inquiries by gathering documentation, coordinating responses, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with financial services products.
  • 5โ€“7 years of product or project management experience in financial services products.
  • Experience in developing, supporting, or managing lending and credit products (e.g., loans, lines of credit, credit cards, secured cards) required.
  • Experience launching or operating these products in a fintech or sponsor bank / partner program environment is a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of bank risk management frameworks and cross-functional stakeholder roles (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations).
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini) to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and improve quality of deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of product development lifecycle and governance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.
  • Ability to operate independently in a self-managed team environment.
Travel
  • Occasional travel (a few times per quarter, as needed).
