The ideal candidate combines expertise in regulatory technology, financial crimes compliance, data governance, process improvement, analytics, and operational effectiveness. While familiarity with AML and financial crimes programs is important, the role requires a broader enterprise mindset capable of driving improvements across multiple regulatory and operational functions.

Analytics & Optimization
  • Lead the analysis and optimization of regulatory and operational controls across AML, Fair Credit Reporting, customer data, and operational risk processes.
  • Evaluate false positives, exception rates, process defects, and control failures to identify root causes.
  • Design and execute testing strategies to evaluate changes in thresholds, selection criteria, confidence levels, and business rules.
  • Establish test-and-learn frameworks to continuously improve control performance and operational effectiveness.
Data Quality & Governance
  • Assess data quality issues impacting regulatory reporting, operational processes, and compliance programs.
  • Identify upstream data sources and downstream business impacts.
  • Develop data quality monitoring, reporting, and remediation strategies.
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to improve data lineage, traceability, and governance.
Root Cause Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Lead complex investigations into process failures, customer impacts, operational inefficiencies, and compliance gaps.
  • Map end-to-end business processes and identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and risk reduction.
  • Recommend process improvements supported by measurable business outcomes.
Regulatory Technology Leadership
  • Partner with Compliance Technology and Data teams to optimize monitoring, surveillance, workflow, and reporting platforms.
  • Translate regulatory expectations into scalable technology and analytics solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, AI/ML capabilities, and analytics tools to improve regulatory effectiveness.
Measurement & Reporting
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting for leadership teams.
  • Measure reductions in false positives, process defects, control failures, customer impacts, and operational costs.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Regulatory Technology, Compliance Analytics, Financial Crimes, Data Governance, Risk Analytics, Operational Excellence, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide analytics, optimization, or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience evaluating data quality issues and data governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of AML/BSA, Financial Crimes, Fair Credit Reporting, or adjacent regulatory environments.
  • Experience working with large-scale operational, customer, and transaction data.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into executive-level recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AML, Financial Crimes, Fraud, Fair Lending, or Regulatory Compliance experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma, Process Excellence, or Operational Excellence background.
  • Experience with machine learning, model tuning, alert optimization, or predictive analytics.
  • Knowledge of risk and control frameworks.
  • Experience with regulatory findings remediation and control enhancement initiatives.
