Partnering closely with the VP of Consumer Lending and Servicing, you will help shape and execute strategies that support loan growth, strengthen portfolio performance, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure sound risk management. This role balances growth, member experience, and credit quality while advancing dealer referral partnerships, developing high-performing teams, and leveraging data and market insights to inform decisions and support the Credit Union's long-term success. The ideal candidate is a seasoned consumer lending leader with strong business acumen, deep lending expertise, and a passion for developing people, improving processes, and driving meaningful results.
What you will need to be successful

Experience leading consumer lending functions with responsibility for portfolio performance, credit quality, operational effectiveness and sustainable loan growth. Proven ability to evaluate credit risk, monitor portfolio trends, and implement lending strategies to support business objectives.
  • Strategic Leadership & Business Development: Demonstrated experience developing and executing lending strategies that drive portfolio growth, operational efficiency, and member value. Prior success leading dealer referral programs including dealer relationships, program performance and indirect lending growth. Experience leading process transformations, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement within consumer lending operations. Proven ability to analyze portfolio and operational performance data, evaluate market trends, identify growth opportunities, and recommend enhancements to lending products, services and programs.
  • Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance: Advanced knowledge of consumer lending regulations, underwriting standards, compliance requirements, and risk management principles. Proven experience overseeing lending compliance programs, audits, and regulatory examinations while maintaining and enhancing underwriting guidelines, lending policies, and procedures to align with regulatory requirements, organizational objectives and risk appetite.
  • Leadership & Talent Development: At least five years of management or people-leadership experience required. Proven ability to lead, coach and develop leaders and high-performing teams while fostering engagement, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Ability to navigate complex employee relations matters, manage performance, and effectively lead through change.
  • Experience & Education: At least eight years of progressive consumer lending experience including direct underwriting experience and responsibilities in lending operations, portfolio management, or dealer referral lending. Proficiency in MS Office, lending systems, reporting tools and consumer loan documentation programs required with experience utilizing lending analytics and performance reporting tools highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent experience required.
Ways we'll appreciate you

  • Initial and on-going support, training and mentorship
  • Competitive wages, bonuses, paid holidays and paid time off
  • 100% credit-union-paid employee coverage for medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; dependent coverage also available
