Role Overview

The AES Group INC. is seeking an experienced Advanced Software Developer for one of our clients in the financial services industry. The successful candidate will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable enterprise applications supporting capital markets and back-office operations.

This role requires strong backend Java development experience, hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, event-driven architecture, relational databases, distributed caching, and Kubernetes-based deployments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle and supporting business-critical applications in production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable enterprise software applications.
  • Build scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop and support event-driven applications using Kafka or comparable messaging platforms.
  • Participate in system design, technical analysis, code reviews, testing, deployment, and operational support.
  • Design and manage containerized applications deployed within Kubernetes environments.
  • Develop database solutions using relational database platforms.
  • Troubleshoot application, integration, performance, and production issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver secure and maintainable solutions.
  • Follow established software development, documentation, source-control, and DevOps practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on Java development experience using Java 8 or later.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot, preferably Spring Boot 3.
  • Proven experience in enterprise system design, application development, testing, and production support.
  • 3+ years of experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies, such as RabbitMQ, Amazon Kinesis, or Azure Service Bus.
  • 5+ years of experience with relational databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with distributed caching or in-memory data-grid technologies, such as Hazelcast.
  • Proficiency with Git or Bitbucket, Jira, Maven, and related development tools.
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable applications on Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and back-office technology platforms.
  • Strong analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
