We're seeking a compassionate, driven Staff Attorney to join our North Platte office. This is an opportunity to build meaningful client relationships, develop a diverse legal practice, and make a lasting impact in western Nebraska.

What You'll Do


As a Staff Attorney, you'll provide direct legal representation to eligible clients in a variety of civil legal matters while serving as a trusted advocate for vulnerable Nebraskans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating potential cases and determining appropriate representation.
  • Conducting legal research and factual investigations.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Negotiating settlements and representing clients in hearings, litigation, and appeals as appropriate.
  • Counseling clients on their legal rights, options, and next steps.
  • Collaborating with community partners and participating in outreach and legal education initiatives.
  • Staying current on developments in areas of law affecting Legal Aid clients.
