The Business Development and Marketing Senior Specialist will interact with office leadership, attorneys, and business professionals, to assist and execute projects, programs, activities, and processes that support the business development and marketing strategies for the Health Care & Life Sciences Sector. This individual will have strong project management skills needed to manage and execute projects, programs, and activities that support business development and marketing initiatives for the entire sector. This individual will work closely with the Senior Manager of Business Development & Marketing to stay versed in emerging legal practice and market trends to provide attorneys with an understanding of the competitive landscape and help position the firm for increased revenue and profile-raising opportunities. This is a highly collaborative role where short-term projects and long-term strategy meet to provide our offices and attorneys with the support they need to generate revenue and enhance the Foley brand. This role is responsible for executing sector growth initiatives, driving client development programs, enhancing market visibility, supporting key industry relationships, and identifying opportunities that generate revenue and strengthen the firm's position in the health care and life sciences marketplace.

Responsibilities
  • Work with sector and Area of Focus leaders, partners, and BD & Marketing leadership to identify and execute profile raising, business development, and sector involvement initiatives in the legal/business communities that are strategic and align with the sector business plan
  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities to expand relationships through initiatives and client team programs
  • Assist attorneys in developing strategic plans for priority sector clients, target accounts, and emerging industry opportunities
  • Assist with the promotion of sector activities via social media posts and help guide attorney with LinkedIn posts
  • Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility
  • Manage the execution of events, conferences/seminars, client entertainment, and client receptions, including logistics, invitations, materials, follow-up communications, and ROI tracking
  • Track event performance metrics and recommend strategies to improve engagement and revenue generation
  • Utilize the firm's CRM database (Dynamics) to create and send external mailings, run reports, and access the data for business development purposes
  • Maintain the integrity of the firm's experience database, working with the PR and CRM teams and attorneys to collect experience and organize it effectively, update sector collateral regularly, and work with attorneys to update their bios
  • Develop customized pitches/RFPs, presentations, and sector marketing materials
  • Write submissions to major award programs aligned to the sector
  • Track and monitor all memberships and sponsorships and track ROI
  • Assist in creation and monitoring of budgets for the sector
  • Develop relationships with organizations to identify committee and Board opportunities for business development and profile purposes
  • Oversee drafting and completion of award/directory submissions (Chambers) for legal and business publications
  • Drive the development and promotion of sector thought leadership, including articles, alerts, webinars, podcasts, and speaking opportunities
  • Partner with attorneys toย identifyย timelyย market topics and develop client-facing content
  • Leverage Foley's marketing technology to identify potential leads and track and manage opportunities and pursuits
  • Effectively collaborate with all teams within the Business Development and Marketing Department, including Communications, Events, Client Development, RFP/Proposal, Competitive Intelligence, Sectors and Industries, Branding and Creative Services, and Marketing Systems and Operations, to create and implement practice group marketing projects, facilitate business development efforts, and support client service opportunities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of general marketing experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in professional services requiredย 
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred #LI-Hybridย
