Job description

Position Overview

The Legal Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal teams to ensure efficient operations. This role involves managing legal documents, data entry, client communication, and assisting attorneys, paralegals, and case managers as needed.


Key Responsibilities

·       Draft templated legal documents such as Complaints & Affidavits, etc.

·       Electronically file and paper file legal documents

·       Communicate directly with Courts in North Carolina, Southern Carolina, and Georgia

·       Print, prepare, and organize files as instructed

·       Assist attorneys, paralegals, and case managers when applicable

·       Must work with a sense of urgency

·       Maintain compliance with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act


Required Qualifications

·       Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a legal or administrative support role

·       Knowledge: Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and documentation

·       Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software

·       Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       Organization: Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

·       Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry. Ability to think of the full picture

·       Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

·       Teamwork: Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff. Willingness to be cross trained
