Job description

Job Title: Senior Legal Operations Specialist Location: Florham Park, New Jersey Type: 6-month Contract Compensation: $31.00 - $54.00 per hour (dependent on experience) Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the day-to-day administration of the contract management system (Agiloft), including system maintenance, updates, and enhancements.
  • Support contract intake, review, routing, execution, and maintenance for high-volume agreements such as MSAs, SOWs, CDAs, and consulting agreements.
  • Conduct initial contract reviews to identify missing information, inconsistencies, or workflow issues, exercising independent judgment to determine appropriate agreement types and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on system processes, templates, and submission requirements.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, IT, vendors, and other departments to expedite review and approval processes.
  • Monitor contract workflows in Agiloft, shepherd drafts between reviewers, and ensure timely processing of agreements.
  • Maintain and suggest updates to legal templates within the contract system, and respond to inquiries regarding templates and contract submissions.
  • Assist with operational and administrative tasks including vendor management, onboarding, meeting arrangements, travel logistics, expense reporting, and purchase order processing.
  • Support legal and compliance training initiatives and corporate administration activities, including Board meeting coordination and document management.
  • Foster effective working relationships with business units, providing legal and operational guidance aligned with business needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • At least four (4) years of experience working with legal departments, contracts, or related legal issues
  • Proficiency with contract management software, preferably Agiloft or similar systems
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to train diverse clients on systems and processes
  • Good understanding of legal drafting and agreement review
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills related to contracts
  • Ability to work effectively cross-culturally and across multiple time zones
  • Service-oriented attitude with a positive and collaborative approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, flexibility, and discretion with confidential information
