Overview

Location: Wichita, KS

Pay Range: $64.00 - $74.00/hour

EXPLEO GROUP USA is currently looking for an Expert/Consultant Stress Engineer (Metallic/Composite, Fuselage, Structure) (Level 4-5) to join our team for an exciting new opportunity in Wichita, KS.

The Stress Engineer will apply knowledge of engineering principles, theories, concepts, industry practices, and standards to deliver high-quality design engineering solutions while assuring procedural compliance within assigned engineering project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and prioritize work contents based on project deliverables.
  • Perform detailed stress analysis of aircraft metallic and composite fuselage components, by classical hand analysis as well as Finite Element methods, to support structural design change efforts.
  • Review and analyze design changes.
  • Check to fatigue/static/damage tolerance (DT) loads.
  • Generate stress substantiation reports.
  • Develop or review structural qualification plans in accordance with OEM standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, stress reports, and test reports when requested.
  • Coordinate with design engineers, team leads, suppliers, and technical management to ensure compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and present stress findings while challenging design solutions where appropriate.
  • Compile and generate progress reports to communicate deliverable status.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and urgency in completing assignments.
Qualifications
  • BS in Aerospace Engineering (Mechanical, Design, Structural or related discipline)
  • Level 4: 9 - 14+ years of Aerospace Stress Engineering experience with recognized technical expertise
  • Prior experience using stress analysis tools and methods
  • Experience with both composite and metallic structures
  • Must have Boeing program experience
  • Experience in static (FE and free body), fatigue, and transient analysis
  • Proficiency in Nastran, Patran, Abaqus
  • Strong capability in classical hand calculations and FEM methods
  • In-depth knowledge of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
