About The Role
POSITION SUMMARY
The Loan Support Internship will provide an opportunity for a student or recent postgraduate to work closely with experienced lending and credit professionals in supporting the administrative and operational aspects of the loan lifecycle. The intern will gain exposure to loan documentation, credit analysis support, portfolio management, and compliance processes. This role is designed to build foundational knowledge of banking operations, risk management, and client servicing while developing strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
The Intern may have occasional contact with customers, vendors, the general public, and will interact in a professional and courteous manner, and conduct him/herself in such relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall efficiency and image of the bank. This person must have the ability to communicate effectively while working quickly and accurately.
This position will span approximately 6 months to 18 months.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform general administrative and operational support duties as assigned.
  • Assist with Loan Support tasks such as doc boarding, doc prep, and doc review.
  • Research regulations and compliance requirements as related to bank policy, procedures, and practices.
  • Support the tracking and monitoring of loan pipelines, approvals, and funding timelines
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting with daily tasks and/or special projects as assigned.
  • Scan credit file documents, then review scanned results, ensuring that image quality and file is complete.
  • Attend compliance committee meetings and other meetings as invited and/or requested.
  • Regular on-site attendance is an essential function and required for this position.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s).
  • Be accountable for compliance with applicable laws and regulations when performing their job duties.
  • Participate in required training to become familiar with the legal and regulatory requirements affecting his or her job responsibilities.
  • Carry out responsibilities at all times in a manner that complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Represent Heritage Bank of Nevada in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive "can-do/consider-it-done" attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High degree of attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skill(s) to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have ability to prioritize and organize heavy workload(s) and demonstrate effective time management skill(s).
  • Must have the ability to work in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced/deadlines-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately: perform effectively under pressure; meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and make decisions based on regulation(s), company policy(s), knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with a positive "can-do" attitude.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Student or postgraduate can provide 2 letters of recommendation from professors or academic advisors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of at least three years at a four-year university to no more than 2 years post graduate.
  • Student or postgraduate is working toward a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field such as economics, legal, compliance, or audit.
  • Student or postgraduate exhibits a high degree of reliability and dependability.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
