The Role

Lumen is seeking a Principal Product Manager to help define and execute the strategy, roadmap, and commercialization of our Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) portfolio. This leader will be responsible for driving the evolution of digital, self-service networking experiences that enable customers to provision, modify, monitor, and optimize network services on demand.

The ideal candidate combines deep product management expertise with experience in networking, cloud connectivity, APIs, platforms, digital customer experiences, and recurring consumption-based business models. They will work closely with engineering, architecture, sales, finance, operations, legal, and executive leadership to deliver innovative products that accelerate Lumen's transformation toward software-defined, consumption-based networking. NaaS at Lumen focuses on delivering real-time, self-service, scalable control of network services through a digital platform and includes services such as Internet On-Demand, Ethernet On-Demand, and Multi-Cloud Gateway.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the product strategy, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap for Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) capabilities, aligning customer needs, market trends, technology innovation, and business objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept and business case development through launch, commercialization, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with customers, industry stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for differentiated services, improved user experiences, and new revenue growth.
  • Drive roadmap execution across product, platform, digital experience, and operational workstreams, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
  • Champion customer-centric, API-first, and automation-driven experiences, leveraging AI, analytics, and modern product practices to improve customer outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Sales, Finance, Operations, Security, and other stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives and successful go-to-market outcomes.
  • Establish and monitor product performance metrics, including adoption, revenue, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business value, providing insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
  • 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex technology products.
  • Experience building and managing B2B SaaS, platform, cloud, networking, telecom, or infrastructure products.
  • Demonstrated ability to define strategic roadmaps and lead cross-functional execution.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and business case development skills.
  • Experience working with Agile development teams and modern product development methodologies.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with telecommunications, cloud networking, or NaaS solutions.
  • Knowledge of APIs, orchestration platforms, automation frameworks, and digital ecosystems.
  • Experience with consumption-based, recurring revenue, or platform business models.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Experience leading strategic transformation initiatives within large enterprises.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
