Job description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Electrical Engineer for an opportunity with one of our premier clients in Oshkosh, WI.
The Engineer - Electrification designs functional, reliable and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle high voltage electrical systems. Performs engineering analysis and electrical design or re-design, and development of electrical systems and subsystems into existing and new vehicles.
  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to client as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
  • Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Under close supervision, design electrical parts and components to correct parameters and specifications while incorporating quality, cost reliability and ease of manufacturing.
  • Support senior engineers with basic and accurate calculations, analysis and investigation according to client as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot or production builds, including resolution of problems in manufacturing.
  • Process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, and the creation of thorough print documentation.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with Internship experience or six (6) or more months related work experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.
  • Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 protocol.
  • Automotive High Voltage Training/Certification(s).
  • Power Electronics and Machines familiarity.
  • Energy Storage system familiarity.
