Billing Cochran, P.A. is a civil litigation law firm focused on achieving positive results for clients through a blend of experience, commitment, and strategic vision. The firm has represented clients in trials and non-litigation matters on a regional and statewide basis for decades. Its attorneys aim to set a benchmark for superb counsel by anticipating client expectations and consistently exceeding them. Billing Cochran, P.A. concentrates on complex civil matters, including professional malpractice, corporate and contract disputes, employment issues, civil rights claims, municipal and police liability, construction and premises liability, motor vehicle and homeowners claims, products liability, insurance coverage disputes, and collections.


The Legal Associate will support attorneys in managing complex civil litigation and related matters in a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, analyzing case law and statutes, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents, and assisting with trial preparation. The role involves reviewing and summarizing records, communicating with clients and internal teams, coordinating with courts and opposing counsel, and helping manage case files and deadlines. The Legal Associate will collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys to advance case strategy and ensure high-quality client service.


Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in Law with knowledge of civil litigation and related legal frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated Analytical Skills for legal research, case evaluation, and application of statutes and case law.
  • Effective Communication skills for clear written work product and professional interaction with clients, courts, and colleagues.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and address Legal Issues in complex matters across multiple practice areas.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active or pending admission to the Florida Bar.

  • Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced law firm environment with a commitment to client-focused service.
  • 5-10 Year Medical Malpractice Experience
