Responsibilities:

  • Organize and maintain case files (paper and electronic)

·        Binder creation with proper indexing, coding, and labeling

  • Prepare and timely follow-up on medical records requests
  • Update/maintain Case Status List (following attorney/paralegal meetings)
  • Input data into case management software
  • Schedule client appointments
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Prepare outgoing mail
  • Maintain/track certified mail receipts for outgoing mail
  • Complete status request forms from doctors’ offices/health insurance providers
  • Format discovery requests for completion by paralegals
  • Typing, faxing, scanning, and copying
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant (preferred, but not required)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred, but not required)
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Proficiency in technology (specifically Microsoft Office)
