Job description

Job Summary

Legal Practice Assistant supporting the Investment Management practice group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Boston. Reports to the Manager of Legal Practice Support. The role provides broad legal and administrative support in a highly collaborative environment, including client correspondence, document preparation, research, and coordination across attorney teams. The position is hybrid, with a mix of in‑office and remote work, and requires flexibility for overtime, travel, and occasional evening hours. A commitment of two years is expected.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, organize, and maintain case and client files.
  • Coordinate and prepare information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence.
  • Assist with drafting, proofreading, editing, and gathering factual support for internal and external requests.
  • Support the development and management of case and practice‑group work products.
  • Conduct research, fact investigations, and analysis for internal and external requests.
  • Coordinate communication and planning across attorney teams handling multiple client matters.
  • Interface with clients and serve as a point of contact when delegated.
  • Participate in supervised client communications to exchange information.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Manager of Legal Practice Support, workflow coordinator, or attorneys.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; 3.5 GPA or higher preferred.
  • One year of combined internship or professional experience preferred.
  • Strong self‑starter, critical‑thinking, and big‑picture analysis skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; teamwork ability.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel and work evening hours as needed.
  • Cover letter required describing how your values, goals, and experience align with this position.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $53,200.00 – $85,150.00 (subject to negotiation).
